2022 Spring Grant Partners

Every year we award grants in our two cycles, once in the spring and once in the fall, these are the recipients of grants in Spring of 2022.

In our spring grant cycle we are thrilled to be investing $50,000 in the incredible, passionate, and effective work in our community. These organizations inspire and enable kids to participate in athletics. On a daily basis, the individuals and volunteers at these non profit organizations provide access, inclusion, and opportunity for youth.

Adaptive Sports Northwest provides and promotes recreational, fitness, and competitive opportunities for people with physical disabilities. Our grant helps build organizational capacity for youth sports through adaptive equipment, coaching, and accessible facilities.

Alano Club of Portland serves youth in recovery living in the community as well as youth connected with recovery centers. Our grant will support the Recovery Gym program to provide youth specific classes at two locations in Multnomah and Washington counties.

Big Yard Foundation works with children ages 5-15 in N/NE Portland through education, arts, and athletics to foster the belief that a culture of empowerment within marginalized communities will help develop leaders. Our grant is a capacity building grant that will support organization staff as this new nonprofit continues to grow and serve youth.

Bridge City Soccer Academy provides programs for female youth athletes of all skill levels with opportunities to play soccer with female coaches. Our grant will fund their community impact program to create more access to soccer for girls in underserved communities by providing out-of-school activities and resources.

Community Transitional School is a tuition-free private nonprofit Pre-K through 8th grade school serving students experiencing homelessness, or in danger of school failure. Our grant will underwrite a general PE program for Pre-k-8th grade students.

Elevate Oregon’s mission is to build relationships with urban youth at Parkrose High School to promote education, self-reliance and leadership. Our grant supports their Summer Activity Camps in the Parkrose community.

Elite Sports Academy provides an 8-10 week, all day summer program held in North Portland.  Multiple sports, athletic training and educational sessions that many underprivileged children would not otherwise have access to. Our grant helps maintain the free summer program to reach struggling families and provide them with athletic and educational programing.

NW Disability Support promotes advocacy and education for an inclusive community for those touched by intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our contribution supports Bike First! – a special one week bike camp where riders will learn how to ride a two wheel bike and learn about perseverance.

Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation introduces youth to the sport of sailing while providing access to the outdoors and building confidence / life skills. Our grant will fund their free Community Sailing Program for underserved teens partnering with Portland nonprofits to identify youth living in low income situations.

Rip City Boxing is an organization that fosters youth via discipline, self-respect and accountability through the sport of boxing in NE Portland. Our grant will provide a coaching stipend to assist in volunteer staff retention and positive continuity for student athletes.
