Giovanny Dillanes is a resilient, hardworking student who has turned adversity into action.
After overcoming substance abuse, Gio found healing and discipline through track and cross country at Beaverton High School—earning a spot on the varsity team and redefining what success means to him.
Off the track, he juggles leadership roles, a part-time job, and impactful work with the Oregon Youth Addiction Alliance, all while staying focused on personal growth and community change. As a 2025 Loprinzi Scholarship recipient, Gio will start his journey and studies in neuroscience at Oregon State University’s Honors College.
Aniyah Burns is a force.
She plays three varsity sports (yes, three) at Parkrose high School, has served as captain in all of them, maintains a 3.95 GPA, works a job, and lead as ASB President and Treasurer of National Honor Society. But what really sets her apart is her recipe for success—one she’s crafted through years of athletics and hustle: Commitment. Discipline. Confidence.
Her dream is to become a criminal defense attorney. Inspired by her own lived experiences, she’s ready to fight for those whose voices are often ignored. Aniyah is heading to the University of Oregon to study criminal justice, with her sights set on Howard Law. Because for her, success isn’t just about grades or accolades. Aniyah, you’re showing us all what it means to lead with purpose, power, and heart.
Kofi Franklin is a driven and community-focused student-athlete who’s making waves far beyond the pool.
At David Douglas High School, he’s balanced a 3.8 GPA with varsity swimming and water polo, while mentoring kids of color at his local aquatic center to help break down racial barriers in the sport.
With a passion for equity, he’s advocated from the school-level to the national level—advocating for racial equity at his high school and interning with Senator Wyden’s office and pushing for policies to end the school-to-prison pipeline on the national level. This fall, Kofi will attend Lewis & Clark College, where he’ll continue swimming competitively and pursue pre-law studies.
Congratulations to all the Loprinzi finalists —we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make in this world!
