Inspiring Change: Youth Impact Summit Launches

For many years, the Youth Grant Initiative (YGI) has been a cornerstone of youth engagement at the Multnomah Athletic Foundation. Through YGI, middle school students have had the opportunity to apply their curiosity, compassion, and critical thinking to the fields of philanthropy and grantmaking. The initiative has provided a powerful introduction to community impact while demonstrating that early leadership development can be truly transformative.

This year, we’re placing the traditional YGI program on a thoughtful pause. While it will not be hosted in its usual structure, we remain committed to fostering youth leadership and are introducing a new opportunity that will continue to uphold this value, while also making this opportunity accessible to more students.

This fall, we will host our first-ever Youth Impact Summit – a dynamic one-day event designed to bring middle-school students together for hands-on learning, inspiring speakers, and meaningful conversations with local changemakers. It’s a space where young people can connect with peers and mentors, reflect on what giving back means to them, and leave feeling empowered to create impact.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 19th. Registration will open: August 1st

We look forward to upholding the legacy of YGI and bringing the community together to celebrate the power of youth in action.
