Kalani Hayes is a busy senior at Clackamas High School. She currently plays basketball while
studying and applying to college. She is also a Multnomah Athletic Club Scholar Athlete – an honor awarded to a select group of students based on their academic and athletic achievements.
Hayes is a high school athlete at the top of her game. She was named the Mt. Hood Conference Player of the Year for the 2017-2018 season. And it’s not just on the basketball court that she excels. Hayes also plays volleyball for Clackamas. But it’s the people she has met and the friendships that keep her motivated in athletics. And it’s not just the people on her teams. Some of her best moments have come from working with kids in her community and being able to pass on her love of sports to a new generation.
As a MAC Scholar Athlete, Hayes has enjoyed using the club’s facilities to further her athletic career during her junior and senior years. She says the people she has met make coming to work out a joy rather than a chore.
Hayes is currently interested in pursuing a degree in marketing; however, she is still uncertain on where she is headed next year. Wherever she ends up, she knows athletics will play a part in her future.
